Most of the focus on the forthcoming iOS 4.2 update has been on the iPad, and rightly so. The iPad is finally getting marquee features that most iPhone users have enjoyed for months, like multitasking and folder support. iOS 4.2 doesn't bring as many changes to the iPhone as it does to the iPad, but it does introduce a few new features to the iPhone.

Woah, The iPad Is About To Become A Video Game Console Controlled By The iPhone

http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/09/ipad-video-game-console/
A few weeks ago, Big Bucket Software unveiled an amazing update to their excellent iPhone/iPad game, The Incident. Version 1.2 allowed you to use your iPhone as a wireless controller to control the action on the larger-screen iPad. The first time I used the feature, I was giddy. It reminded me of being 7 years old and playing Nintendo for the first time (the retro-style 8-bit graphics help as well). And with the upcoming version 1.3, The Incident is taking the next leap: to your TV.

While there has been a lot of talk about the new Apple TV being Apple's gateway to gaming (and other apps) in the living room, the fact is that you can already hook up your iPad to your TV. The problem is that this is only meant for media (movies, music, etc) right now. And even if you could run apps, there is no good way to control them remotely. The Incident fixes that because they've already nailed this interaction between iPhone (or iPod touch) and iPad. It's amazingly simple to sync up, and it's precise to use. This is going to be awesome running on the TV.

Apple suspends sales of iPhone 4 slider cases, fueling ‘Glassgate’ rumors

http://www.intomobile.com/2010/11/09/apple-suspends-sales-of-iphone-4-slider-cases-fueling-glassgate-rumors/
News comes up that Apple has suspended sales of slider cases at its retail stores. Apparently, the cause of the suspension is that dirt and debris are causing scratches and cracks to the glass backing on the iPhone. Case makers and manufacturers have invested a great deal of time and money into making iPhone 4 cases that are certified “Made for iPhone 4.” While this does deal a blow to those manufacturers, many of them have pointed out that the cases are still available at retailers like AT&T, Best Buy and Radio Shack.

Hasbro's $30 My3D goggle accessory brings 3D to iPhone, iPod touch

http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/09/hasbros-30-my3d-goggle-accessory-brings-3d-to-iphone-ipod-tou/
Truth be told, it's exactly what the world needed. More 3D gimmickry... on the iPhone and iPod touch, no less. With over 125 million of those two devices in circulation, Hasbro's betting that a new accessory will have a greater-than-average chance at taking off next Spring, with the My3D goggles set to put the View back in ViewMaster. Purportedly, the toy firm is expected to fully reveal the device to investors later today, with it being "aimed at both children and adults" and offering a 3D viewing experience on games, virtual travel, augmented reality apps and entertainment content. Apple fails to fix iPhone Daylight Savings Time alarm bug for US

http://venturebeat.com/2010/11/06/apple-fails-to-fix-iphone-daylight-savings-time-alarm-bug-for-us/
If you live in the US, dont rely on your iPhones alarm clock to wake you up on time Monday morning.
Apple has failed to fix a Daylight Savings Time bug in the iPhones Alarm app that has already disrupted mornings for many users in Europe and Australia. Even though your iPhones internal clock may automatically fall back an hour Sunday night, a bug in the Alarm app causes it to ignore the Daylight Savings change, which in turn leads certain alarms to go off an hour late.
The bug specifically affects repeating alarms which are scheduled to go off during certain days. A

T-Mobile says lack of iPhone is hurting performance

Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann says, “Consumers like T-Mobile but they also want to have the iPhone.” Obermann adds that T-Mobile USA won’t be getting the iPhone any time soon, either. I guess that rules out the rumor that the iPhone/iPod connector we saw earlier signaled the iPhone’s arrival.

T-Mobile customers being mistakenly shipped Micro SIMs, just begging to get shoved into iPhones

http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/05/t-mobile-customers-being-mistakenly-shipped-micro-sims-just-beg/
You've got to admit, this is a little weird: we've received a number of tips today about T-Mobile USA customers being shipped Micro SIMs rather than the typical Mini SIMs. We've gotten a picture of just such a module (see above), and you can plainly see it's not a hybrid -- it can't be snapped out as a Mini SIM, meaning that unless you've got an adapter lying around, you need to head into the store to get it swapped out for the right kind. The only consumer devices out there in any measurable quantity right now that make use of Micro SIMs are, of course, the iPad and iPhone 4 -- and when you p

Lawsuit Accuses Apple of Bricking iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4 to Sell More iPhone 4s

http://hothardware.com/News/Lawsuit-Accuses-Apple-of-Bricking-iPhone-3Gs-with-iOS-4-to-Sell-More-iPhone-4s/
You'll recall, we're sure, just how poorly the iPhone 3G performed with iOS 4, and even Apple's fixes to performance in iOS 4.1 didn't fix everything. Thus, we now have what we expected: a lawsuit. Plaintiff Biana Wofford has filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of California for San Diego. She alleges that Apple knew that iOS 4 would essentially...
